SPEAKERS
Rod Johnston, MBA, CMA, Owner and Principal Broker, Omni Practice Group – Rod has a vast amount of knowledge, experience, and education in all aspects of business and real estate that provide an incredible value to every medical practice. He has managed, owned, partnered, and consulted with numerous practices throughout the Northwest over the past decade. All have benefited from Rod’s experience in staff management, accounting, marketing, and practice management. Prior to Omni, Rod spent 15 years as Director of Treasury and also Director of Accounting for AT&T Wireless. Rod is a licensed commercial broker and specializes in commercial real estate. He has an MBA from Seattle University, is a Certified Management Accounting, and is a member of the Institute of Business Appraisers and the National Association of Practice Brokers.
Jeff Haas, MBA, Practice Transition Specialist, Omni Practice Group – Jeff has over 25 years of successful experience in Dental Sales, Marketing, and Regional Business Management. He received his BS from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from Marywood University. Jeff’s background includes serving as a Regional Sales Manager, selling i-CAT Cone Beam CTs with Danaher and as Western Regional Manager in San Francisco for Schick Technologies. He has also been recognized for excellence as a Dental Supplies and Equipment Representative for both Sullivan Dental Products and Leventhal Dental, earning Salesperson of the Year awards, top company-wide rankings, an i-CAT Lifetime Achievement Award, and numerous individual product growth citations. Jeff thoroughly understands the unique environment of the modern Dental Practice—from how to navigate each relationship, to identifying strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities and negotiating long-term agreements. Recently, Jeff served as Vice President of America’s Choice Real Estate generating over $29 Million in Commercial Real Estate Sales within three years.
Jeffrey B. Sansweet, Attorney, Sansweet, Dearden and Burke, Ltd. Jeffrey B. Sansweet is a SDB shareholder and has been practicing health law with the firm since 1985. Jeff represents physicians, dentists and group practices in their business matters. Jeff understands both sides of employment contracts and has spoken nationally on the topic. On behalf of employers, he drafts contracts for physician and dentist employees. He also reviews and negotiates employment contracts for residents and fellows. Jeff has significant experience with shareholder, operating and partnership agreements. He structures buy-ins for practices that are adding physician or dentist owners, and he also negotiates agreements on behalf of the “partner-to-be.” For clients considering the purchase or sale of a medical practice, Jeff drafts and negotiates the transaction documents and provides counsel on the tax implications. He also advises health professionals on the type of professional entity to form. He spends his free time on the tennis court and softball field.
J. Brad Peiffer, Vice President and Regional Business Development Officer, Bank of America Practice Solutions. In this role, he is responsible for providing lending and financing options to dentists located in the four state territory of: Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland-D.C and Virginia. Brad has two decades of experience working with business owners, medical professionals and corporate executives. Brad understands the complexity that comes with running your own business and private practice. He helps implement specialized lending solutions specifically tailored to the dental industry. Prior to assuming his role with Practice Solutions, Brad served as a Financial Center Manager with Bank of America. In addition, Brad was self-employed for 13 years and is passionate about helping business owners simplify their current and future business priorities. Brad received a Bachelor’s Degree from West Virginia University, and can be found volunteering within his local community. Brad resides in VA, with his wife and 3 children.
