SPEAKERS:
Frank Sciabica, DDS, Practice Transition Consultant, Omni Practice Group – Dr. Frank Sciabica serves as a Transition Consultant at Omni Practice Group. He has been looking after the oral health of his patients and creating healthy, beautiful smiles for more than 25 years. The doctor and his team at Lake Sammamish Family Dentistry have advanced their dental training and knowledge to provide every patient with the most advanced treatment available today. Frank has a DDS from Marquette University School of Dentistry, and his post graduate education includes training at the Las Vegas Dental Institute for Advanced Dental Studies for Advanced Anterior Aesthetic Dentistry and at the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. Frank is a licensed commercial broker in Washington and California.
Rod Johnston, MBA, CMA, Owner and Principal Broker, Omni Practice Group – Rod has a vast amount of knowledge, experience, and education in all aspects of business and real estate that provide an incredible value to every medical practice. He has managed, owned, partnered, and consulted with numerous practices throughout the Northwest over the past decade. All have benefited from Rod’s experience in staff management, accounting, marketing, and practice management. Prior to Omni, Rod spent 15 years as Director of Treasury and also Director of Accounting for AT&T Wireless. Rod is a licensed commercial broker and specializes in commercial real estate. He has an MBA from Seattle University, is a Certified Management Accounting, and is a member of the Institute of Business Appraisers and the National Association of Practice Brokers.
Cecilia Chen, Attorney for Law Offices of Cecilia Chen, Corporate Law – Cecilia regularly assists clients in purchase and sale of medical building and commercial real estate as well as construction and permanent financing. Many issues require special attention and negotiation such as restrictive covenants, uncompleted dental work, retreatment, patient credits and refunds, accounts receivable, referral sources, and insurance plan transfers. Whether it’s a group practice or association of two or more doctors operating a practice, having a written comprehensive partnership agreement is extremely important to cover issues such as death and disability, buy-sell rights, compensation and partner draws, financing issues, etc. Cecilia can also assist existing partners in negotiating buy-in or buy-out terms, and drafting of associated agreements to effectuate the transition.
